Selling on Trendyol and International Marketplaces
Selling on Trendyol and international marketplaces: registration, commissions, logistics and pricing — the real path to becoming a seller from Azerbaijan.

For selling on Trendyol, the first step is not opening a store but confirming that the seller's registration country, tax status, ability to receive payment, product eligibility and logistics model match the platform's current terms.
An Azerbaijani buyer being able to order from Trendyol does not mean an Azerbaijani company can automatically become a seller there. The buyer market and the seller's registration country are two separate matters.
A marketplace can supply ready traffic, but it does not carry your product's cost, customs, returns and wrong stock for you. Even with the store open, no money may remain from each order.
The short decision
- Check country eligibility on the registration screen and current official documents, not blogs.
- Use another country's company, address and bank details only if they genuinely belong to you.
- Calculate not the commission but the contribution left per order, including returns and currency.
- Confirm one product's GTIN, customs code, origin, safety and brand rights first.
- Choose one source of truth for stock, prices, orders, invoices, shipments and returns.
- Do not move the whole catalogue and ad budget to the platform before 30 real orders.
Can an Azerbaijani seller sell directly on Trendyol?
As of 30 July 2026, open official information does not confirm direct Trendyol seller registration with an Azerbaijani legal entity as an active route for everyone. Trendyol's page for Turkish sellers requires a company structure, taxpayer status, sellable stock and operational capability. Those terms belong to the partnership flow within Türkiye.
Trendyol's marketplace business models document lists Azerbaijan as one of the destinations a Turkish seller can micro-export to. Responsibility for the product's correct customs code and country-of-origin data stays with the seller. That document is not proof of an Azerbaijani company registering directly as a Turkish seller.
If you have a lawfully operating company and tax status in Türkiye that genuinely belongs to you, checking the current partner registration with that legal entity is a different scenario. Using someone else's company, address, identity and bank details merely to open an account can create withheld payments, account closure and tax risk.
Questions to ask Trendyol before registration
- Which seller programme can an Azerbaijani-registered legal entity currently apply to?
- Which company countries, tax numbers, bank accounts and identity documents are accepted?
- In which country must the product be stored, and from which country shipped?
- Who issues the sales, commission, logistics, advertising and returns invoices?
- In what currency, to which account and after what checks is the payment transferred?
- Who is responsible for product compliance, labelling and customs for the target country?
Do not tie the business plan to Trendyol revenue without seeing written answers and a contract. The e-commerce model must be chosen to fit the platform's current country boundary; writing the platform's name into the plan is not enough.
Which international marketplace suits an Azerbaijani seller?
A "best marketplace" list ages fast. Country eligibility, payment, product category, target market, logistics and tax must be checked at the same time. The table below shows the boundary current open documents give for the decision; it promises no account approval.
| Platform | The open signal on 30.07.2026 | Check before deciding |
|---|---|---|
| Trendyol | The Türkiye flow requires a company and tax status; Azerbaijan is a micro-export destination | The current programme for an Azerbaijani legal entity, storage country, bank and contract |
| eBay | "Azerbaijan Republic" is on the eligible seller address list | Identity and business verification, a payout method in the same name, categories and shipping |
| Etsy | Azerbaijan is not on the Etsy Payments eligible countries list | Check new-shop eligibility on the current list without picking a false bank country |
| Amazon | Registration requires the business's location country, seller, payment, store/product and identity steps | The Azerbaijani business's place of registration, payout and product eligibility in the chosen regional store |
| Your own store | Few platform country gates; the traffic and operations are yours | Payment, tax, customs, advertising, consumer terms and local support |
eBay's seller registration page lists the Azerbaijan Republic among the eligible addresses. Still, identity, address, business and payment information must be verified; being on the eligible list is not automatic account acceptance.
Azerbaijan is not on Etsy's current Etsy Payments list. Picking another supported bank country just to register is not the right route. Amazon's official registration guide lists the business location country, seller information, billing, store/product and identity verification; confirm the specific regional store and payout eligibility separately on the application screen.
Your own store can give more control, but it brings no ready buyer flow. A marketplace can give demand and trust, in exchange creating commission, rules, account risk and limited customer data. For many businesses, one does not cancel the other.
What must be prepared before marketplace registration?
The registration form can be the easiest part of the work. The main load is the documents confirming each other, and the product being lawful, safe and deliverable in the target market.
- the legal name, registration country, TIN and activity type;
- the actual address, responsible person and beneficial owner details;
- a bank and payment account matching the legal name;
- the product's GTIN/EAN/UPC code or a lawful exemption basis;
- the customs code, country of origin and the product's real composition;
- brand ownership, sales authorisation and the rights to the images used;
- labels, instructions, safety and restrictions matching the target country;
- stock, handling time, invoices, shipping, tracking and the returns address;
- the support language, response times and account access permissions.
If the online store is already running, do not recreate the product codes, stock and order statuses for the marketplace. Write down which system is the source of truth. When the same last item sells on two channels, a delayed stock update can promise one product to two buyers.
Trendyol's integration documents support product data transfer, stock and price updates, orders, invoices and customer questions. Integration convenience does not erase responsibility. Because the old Product V1 services are planned to shut down on 10 August 2026, new technical work must be built against the current changelog and the V2 services.
How is a marketplace order's real income calculated?
The commission percentage does not decide alone. Category fees, advertising, logistics, storage, currency conversion, returns, losses and delayed payouts accumulate on the same order.
Contribution after marketing = paid sales revenue − product − platform − payment/currency − packaging − logistics − expected returns − ad spend
| Illustrative foreign order | Amount | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Sales and delivery revenue | 55 USD | The amount the buyer actually paid |
| Product | −18 USD | Cost and direct supply |
| Platform and payment | −8 USD | An illustrative total, not a current tariff |
| International shipping | −14 USD | Varies by weight, size and country |
| Packaging | −2 USD | Materials and direct labour |
| Returns reserve | −3 USD | The historical risk's share per order |
| Currency difference reserve | −1 USD | Depends on the period and provider |
| Contribution before ads | 9 USD | 55 − 18 − 8 − 14 − 2 − 3 − 1 |
| Advertising | −6 USD | The cost attributed to the order |
| Remaining contribution | 3 USD | Before fixed costs and tax |
These figures are not Trendyol, eBay, Etsy or Amazon tariffs. They are a calculation template. Take the platform's current commission and ad fees, the courier's volumetric weight, the payout currency and the returns model from a written offer. The payment account's name, currency and withdrawal structure must fit daily reconciliation.
How are customs, delivery and returns planned?
Marking a parcel sent abroad as a "gift" does not turn a commercial sale into a gift. The product's correct customs code, origin, value, invoice, export documents and the destination country's import requirements must be checked with a professional customs representative and an accountant.
The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee's electronic services page gives foreign trade participants access to declarations, pre-declaration and other business services. Do not rely on memory or a competitor's listing for the product code and duty; check the current official classification for the specific goods and transaction.
Seven checks before shipping
- Is the product in a prohibited or special-permit category in the target country?
- Are the customs code, origin, material, quantity and sale value identical across the documents?
- Is it clear whether the duty and tax fall on the seller, buyer, platform or carrier?
- How does the courier calculate actual and volumetric weight, fuel and remote-area fees?
- Up to which stage does tracking work, and is there proof of delivery?
- What are the returns address, timeframe, customs clearance and who owns the cost?
- What are the evidence and compensation paths for loss, damage, buyer refusal and customs holds?
Do not choose the delivery partner by the outbound tariff alone. Price three illustrative parcels by weight, size and country; include one failed handover and one return scenario in the written calculation too.
How are the product listing and first sale prepared?
A marketplace listing is not ad copy stuffed with keywords. The category, brand, model, variant, product code, material, dimensions, contents, safety, images and shipping data must confirm each other.
- Extract the platform's categories and mandatory attributes first.
- Build the parent product and variant relationships with stock codes.
- Write the title precisely with the brand, product type, model and key variant.
- In the product description, show dimensions, materials, use and limitations — not unproven superiority.
- In the images, show the real product, scale, contents and the decision-affecting details.
- Build the commission, logistics, returns, currency and advertising boundary into the price.
- Before going live, test the wrong variant, zero stock, cancellation and return scenarios.
AI can create title variants, attribute maps and translation drafts, but it must not invent product facts, brand permissions, customs codes and safety claims. As in Google's explanation of generative AI content, accuracy and added user value are fundamental. Spreading the same supplier text across hundreds of listings creates no differentiation.
In e-commerce marketing, measure platform ads not by turnover but by the contribution left after returned orders. Testing demand first through your own channel — Instagram and content — can be a cheaper trial than migrating a big catalogue.
How do you test a marketplace with 30 orders?
- Choose one country, one category and three to five products.
- Prepare a legal, customs, dimensions, stock and margin card for each product.
- Verify the registration and payment account with real legal information.
- Run one ordinary order, one cancellation and one return through an operational test.
- Record the shipping time, tracking, buyer questions and the platform's response time.
- Reconcile the platform report with the bank, invoices, courier and stock per order.
- After 30 orders, calculate the delivered-order rate, returns and remaining contribution.
- Grow the range and advertising in stages only if the same result repeats in a second cycle.
Thirty orders are not a final verdict on the platform. But they are a real start for finding the registration, stock, invoice, courier, customs, support, returns and payment reconciliation problems that stay invisible on paper.
Frequently asked questions about selling on Trendyol
Can you open a Trendyol store with an Azerbaijani company?
Current open official documents do not confirm a direct seller route open to everyone for an Azerbaijani legal entity. The partnership terms for Türkiye specify a company structure and taxpayer status; Azerbaijan appears among Turkish sellers' micro-export destinations. Before applying, get written confirmation from Trendyol on the legal entity, bank, storage and contract fit.
Do you need a Turkish company to sell on Trendyol?
Trendyol's Turkish seller page requires a company structure and taxpayer status. But opening an account with company and bank details that are not yours is not a solution. Check the current partner programme for your own legal structure in writing with Trendyol and a Turkish tax-legal adviser.
Which international marketplace can you sell on from Azerbaijan?
eBay lists the Azerbaijan Republic among eligible seller addresses, but identity, business and payment verification still run. Azerbaijan is not on the Etsy Payments list. For Amazon, check the business location and payout eligibility for the target regional store on the registration screen. The product category and logistics are separate decisions.
How should marketplace pricing be calculated?
From the price, subtract the product's cost, the platform and payment fees, packaging, logistics by actual and volumetric weight, customs, currency, a returns reserve and advertising. The remainder must cover fixed costs and profit. Even with a low commission percentage, international shipping and a return can push the order into loss.
Is entering several marketplaces at once the right move?
Usually not at the start. Each platform's attributes, stock rules, order statuses, invoices, shipping, returns and support windows create separate load. Run a 30-order pilot in one country and one platform, reconcile the data with your system, and move to the next channel after a profitable result repeats in a second cycle.
Conclusion: eligibility and contribution, not the platform's name
Trendyol and other marketplaces can give access to a ready buyer flow. But if the country eligibility, documents, product, customs, logistics and payment do not work, that traffic does not turn into a business opportunity.
First confirm, in writing, registration with a real legal entity. Then calculate the full cost of three to five products and run a 30-order pilot. Let the decision come from delivered orders that remain profitable after returns — not from the store's opening.
